Patios remain a very widely used method of creating functional outdoor spaces which can be used for socialising, dining, or simply to enhance the appeal of your garden. Patios are constructed from block or slab paving and are available in a huge array of colours, patterns and designs. Patios can be laid in either random course patterns where the pattern is varied, or in repeating patterns which have a consistent effect. Patios are incredibly hard wearing and demand hardly any maintenance, only periodic cleaning to retain the natural beauty of the stone. Patios are usually installed in locations where patio or French doors can open directly out onto them as this results in a seamless transition between the inside and outside spaces. Patios come in a huge array of colours and types of stone. Give some thought to adding a different colour and type of stone to either inlay a stylish design or as edging to emphasise the shape of your patio. It is essential to consider the use of your patio when designing it and measure precisely to ensure that any furniture fits the intended space. Professional patio and paving companies will be able to design you a patio that perfectly satisfies your preferences and creates an outdoor area that is useful as well as beautiful.

Ferndale is a town situated in the Rhondda Valley in the region borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. Neighbouring towns are Blaenllechau, Maerdy as well as Tylorstown. Ferndale was industrialised in the mid-19th century. The very first coal mine shaft was sunk in 1857 and also was the initial community to be intensively industrialised in the Rhondda Valley. In Welsh, Ferndale is called Glynrhedynog, the name of one of the old farms on which the community is developed. In its infancy Glynrhedynog was also called Trerhondda after the name of the very first large chapel to be constructed in the community. The identifying of settlements after chapels was widespread in Wales at the time, as is displayed in village names such as Bethesda, Beulah and Horeb, but neither Glynrhedynog neither Trerhondda was predestined to be used for long. Glynrhedynog is made from words “glyn” implying valley as well as “rhedynog” suggesting ferny, and so coal from the Glynrhedynog pits was marketed as Ferndale coal, a a lot easier name for English customers to take in. The Ferndale pits are what drew the workforce and also their households to the area, and by the 1880s “Ferndale” was well developed as a successful community. With the phasing in of multilingual roadway indicators from the late 1980s onwards, the name Glynrhedynog gradually came back as well as is now the formally assigned Welsh language name for Ferndale. The Welsh language is on the boost in Ferndale after the town embraced the English language throughout the Industrial change. A Welsh language school is situated near the park and the school is named after the park’s lake, ‘Llyn-y-Forwyn.’ (The Maiden’s Lake).
