Patios remain an extremely fashionable method of creating functional outdoor spaces which you can use for socialising, dining, or just to enhance the appeal of your garden. Patios are built from block or slab paving and are available in a large assortment of colours, patterns and designs. Patios can be laid in either random course patterns where the pattern is varied, or in repeating patterns which have a consistent effect. Patios are particularly hard wearing and require very little maintenance, only occasional cleaning to maintain the natural beauty of the stone. Patios are usually installed in locations where patio or French doors can open directly out onto them as this creates a seamless transition between the inside and outside spaces. Patios come in a wide selection of colours and types of stone. Give some thought to including a different colour and kind of stone to either inlay a stylish design or as edging to highlight the shape of your patio. It is vital to consider the use of your patio when planning it and measure precisely to be sure that any furniture will fit the intended space. Expert patio and paving companies can design you a patio that perfectly satisfies your requirements and creates an outdoor area that is practical as well as beautiful.

Maesteg is a town and community in the ceremonial county of Mid Gamorgan and in Bridgend County Borough, Wales. It lies at the north end of the Llynfi Valley, near to the border with Neath Port Talbot. Like the rest of Wales, the English and Welsh languages make up the town’s official languages. Even though a significant proportion of occupants are native English speakers, there is a modest section of the community that speak Welsh. Of the 20612 inhabitants noted in the 2011 Census, 11 percent of the town’s population speak Welsh. There are significant differences between age groups, with 27.9 per cent of 3 to 15 year olds speaking Welsh, 8.6 percent of 16 to 64 year olds, and the lowest proportion being amongst the over 65s at 5.3 per cent. The opening of ironworks in the 1820s and 1830s stimulated the growth of the town. Between 1890 and 1925, Maesteg held a global status as a supplier of Admiralty-grade steam coal, high quality cooking coal and the best house coal in South Wales. By the early 1920s, 7000 miners worked in the town. With the decrease of the coal industry and the closure of the last pit in 1985, the town is now characterised as being more residential and domestic in nature, mostly for the Port Talbot, Bridgend and Cardiff journey to work areas. Founded in 1881, Maesteg Market continues to be a well-attended market, which is located on the ground floor of Maesteg Town Hall and a large variety of items are offered. The town is also acknowledged for its strong music and singing tradition, being the home of a variety of choirs and bands.
