Tree felling can be performed for a range of reasons. Trees that are diseased or damaged and not able to recover might need to be felled to guarantee that they do not fall on their own and cause personal injury or damage to property. Likewise, if trees are damaged by bad weather or other factors and have partially fallen they will likely require felling to ensure that they do not cause any more damage either to properties or adjoining trees. Domestic tree felling can be carried out if a tree has grown too big or is especially near a building and therefore more likely to cause structural problems. In addition, trees in gardens can be felled if they are obscuring the light to a property or otherwise impacting your enjoyment of your garden.
Though it can be tempting to carry out tree felling as a DIY job, it is unsafe to attempt without the correct training and planning. Experienced tree felling companies can fell trees in a safe way and ensure that they do not cause any damage to property as they are felled. If the area around a tree is constrained, the tree can be felled in portions to lower the risk of it falling and causing damage in the surrounding area. Tree felling companies will also remove the fallen tree in a sustainable way, and may even cut up the tree into logs for use in a wood burner or stove.

Ellon is a town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is around 16 miles (26 km) north of Aberdeen, lying on the River Ythan, which has one of the couple of undeveloped river estuaries on the eastern coast of Scotland. It is in the ancient area of Formartine. Its name is believed to stem from the Gaelic word Eilean, an island, on account of the existence of an island in the River Ythan, which offered a helpful fording point. In accordance with population estimates from 2006, the town has a permanent resident population of around 9860 people. Ellon has taken advantage of the North Sea oil demand, and is one of the major dormitory towns for Aberdeen. Regular and regular bus services connect Ellon with Aberdeen, Inverurie, Peterhead, Fraserburgh and surrounding towns and towns, serving both the town centre and the large Park and Ride facility at the eastern edge of the town. Ellon is part of the proposed Energetica corridor of development. The population is growing as young families seek to leave Aberdeen and move to close-by towns like Ellon, Inverurie and Banchory. Throughout 2006, Ellon ranked as the town with the 4th most rapidly increasing average house prices in Scotland. Places of interest within the town include the ruins of Ellon Castle, surrounded by walls called the Deer Dyke, and the Auld Brig, a category A listed bridge over the Ythan, constructed in 1793 and still in use as a pedestrian bridge. The Riverside Park offers pathways along the side of the Ythan, from which herons, salmon, trout and otters can be observed. The Meadows sports centre has numerous sporting facilities and clubs, including football and rugby pitches, an astroturf pitch for hockey, a fitness center, and a multi-use sports hall.
