Although its significance as an element of garden design is sometimes disregarded, fencing is a key part of both the aesthetics and practicality of your garden. Garden fencing is likely to differ between the front and back of properties, with taller and more solid wooden fencing commonly being used in the rear garden, while the front of the home often utilises smaller and more attractive fencing. Fencing for the front of the home tends to feature a low height and large gaps between the wooden slats. Also, it is often coloured to enhance its decorative effect.
Fencing in the back garden is often used for privacy and to preserve the borders of a garden, as well as to keep domestic pets or other small animals or wildlife either in or out. Due to this, these types of fences are about 6 feet high and use wooden slats without gaps in between. Due to the added height, these fences generally have concrete footings laid in between each section to offer strength and stopping the fence from blowing over or being damaged in poor weather.
Garden fencing panels are generally constructed from wood. The posts in between the sections are manufactured from either timber, stone, or concrete. Recently, fence panels have started to be constructed from heavily recycled and sustainable composite materials such as recycled bamboo.

Get Portree pros
Portree is the largest town on, and funding of, the Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. It is the location for the only high school on the island, Portree Secondary school. Public transport solutions are limited to buses. Portree has a harbour, fringed by cliffs, with a pier designed by Thomas Telford. Destinations in the town include the Aros centre which commemorates the island’s Gaelic heritage. Further arts provision is made through arts organisation ATLAS Arts, a Creative Scotland regularly-funded organisation. The town also serves as a centre for travelers exploring the island. The Royal Hotel is the site of MacNab’s Inn, the last gathering place of Vegetation MacDonald and also Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1746. The community plays host to the Isle of Skye’s shinty club, Skye Camanachd. They dip into Pairc nan Laoch above the community on the road to Struan. Around 939 people (37.72% of the population) can talk Scottish Gaelic.
