Landscaping is a term which means modifying the visible features of land, and can consequently involve a wide range of gardening tasks, from simple DIY projects to full scale design and build landscaping solutions. Landscaping is generally divided into two separate areas. Soft landscaping refers to alterations to plants, trees and shrubs, as well as laying turf. Hard landscaping is used to group changes to terrain like installing patios, walls, fences, decking, driveways, or artificial grass. Landscaping will also involve maintenance jobs such as mowing and strimming lawns, trimming hedges and bushes and pruning trees, although these activities are often performed alongside larger scale changes to the garden itself. Specialist landscaping experts will be able to conduct a survey of your garden and give you advice on the most suitable transformations to maximise the use of your space. If you have always desired a patio, sleeper beds for planting or a water feature, a landscape company will undertake the design and build of these elements. Furthermore, many landscaping companies also offer an aftercare service, where they will perform routine maintenance on your garden to ensure its new features stay in perfect condition. Landscaping works will make your garden and the other areas around your home such as your driveway a genuinely functional and beautiful space that you can enjoy for many years to come.
