Landscaping is a term which means transforming the visible features of land, and can therefore involve many gardening tasks, from simple DIY projects to full scale design and build landscaping services. Landscaping is normally divided into two distinct areas. Soft landscaping refers to alterations to plants, trees and shrubs, as well as laying turf. Hard landscaping is used to group adjustments to terrain such as the installation of patios, walls, fences, decking, driveways, or artificial grass. Landscaping will also incorporate maintenance jobs like mowing and strimming lawns, trimming hedges and bushes and pruning trees, although these activities are typically performed alongside larger scale improvements to the garden itself.
Experienced landscaping companies can carry out a survey of your garden and give you advice on the most suitable transformations to maximise the use of your space. If you have always desired an outdoor patio, sleeper beds for planting or a water feature, a landscape company will carry out the design and build of these elements. In addition, many landscaping companies also offer an aftercare service, where they will perform routine upkeep on your garden to ensure its new features remain in perfect condition. Landscaping works will make your garden and the other areas around your property such as your driveway a truly functional and attractive space that you can enjoy for many years to come.
