Landscaping is a term that means modifying the visible features of land, and can consequently refer to a wide range of gardening tasks, from simple DIY projects to full scale design and build landscaping services. Landscaping is usually divided into two distinct areas. Soft landscaping refers to alterations to plants, trees and shrubs, as well as laying turf. Hard landscaping is used to group alterations to terrain such as the installation of patios, walls, fences, decking, driveways, or artificial grass. Landscaping will also incorporate maintenance jobs like mowing and strimming lawns, trimming hedges and bushes and pruning trees, although these activities are often performed together with larger scale changes to the garden itself. Experienced landscaping companies will be able to execute a survey of your garden and advise you on the best transformations to increase the use of your space. If you have always desired a patio, sleeper beds for planting or a water fountain, a landscape company will undertake the design and build of these elements. In addition, many landscaping companies also offer an aftercare service, where they will undertake routine upkeep on your garden to ensure its new features remain in perfect condition. Landscaping works will make your garden and the other areas around your house such as your driveway a truly functional and attractive space that you can enjoy for many years to come.
