Patios remain an extremely common way of creating functional outdoor spaces which can be used for entertaining, dining, or simply to enhance the attractiveness of your garden. Patios are made from block or slab paving and can come in a large variety of colours, patterns and designs. Patios can be laid in either random course patterns where the pattern is varied, or in repeating patterns that have a consistent effect. Patios are very durable and need almost no maintenance, only periodic cleaning to protect the natural beauty of the stone. Patios are usually installed in locations where patio or French doors can open directly out onto them as this results in a smooth transition between the inside and outside spaces.
Patios come in a wide array of colours and types of stone. Give some thought to using a different colour and type of stone to either inlay an elegant design or as edging to complement the shape of your patio. It is important to consider the use of your patio when planning it and measure accurately to ensure that any furniture fits the intended space. Expert patio and paving companies will be able to design you a patio that perfectly meets your requirements and creates an outdoor area that is practical as well as beautiful.
