Camelford is a community and civil parish in north Cornwall, England, UK, located in the River Camel valley northwest of Bodmin Moor. The town is approximately 10 miles (16 km) north of Bodmin and also is governed by Camelford Town Council. [3] Lanteglos-by-Camelford is the ecclesiastical church in which the town is located (not to be puzzled with Lanteglos-by-Fowey). The ward population at the 2011 Census was 4,001. The Town population at the same census was 865 just. Camelford remains in the North Cornwall legislative constituency represented by Scott Mann MP because 2015. Till 1974, the town was the administrative headquarters of Camelford Rural District. The two primary industrial business in the area are the slate quarry at Delabole as well as celebrity factory at Davidstow as well as there is a little industrial estate at Highfield. The A39 road (dubbed ‘Atlantic Freeway’) passes through the community centre: a bypass has been reviewed for years. Camelford Station, some distance from the community, closed in 1966; the website was consequently used as a cycling gallery.
