Garden sheds are a crucial aspect of any practical garden space. They offer storage for bulky garden tools, as well as for other tools. A sizeable shed could provide enough space for plant potting or a general workshop. Additionally, a sizeable shed could be utilised as an indoor seating area. Garden sheds come in an enormous choice of sizes and can be specified to your exact needs, providing you with complete control over the number and position of windows, type, size and location of door, and style of roof.
Garden sheds usually come in one of three materials. Wooden sheds are the typical style and can be integrated well into any garden creating a natural look, particularly if the wood used for the shed is matched to adjacent fences. Wooden sheds remain very popular, although they will require maintenance by retreating or staining the wood to maintain the life of the shed. Garden sheds are also manufactured from metal, which is very tough and therefore great for storage of tools and other equipment. Metal sheds also require hardly any maintenance. The final material for garden sheds is plastic, which in modern examples is far more resilient than might be expected.
When contemplating a garden shed, it’s important to ensure that you select one that will fit in your garden space. Garden sheds will need to be sited on a flat area, and will require a base to be built as a foundation. This base could be produced from either concrete, paving, gravel or a floating wooden base, but will need to be the right size for your shed and capable of supporting the weight of your shed when loaded.

Carnforth is a small town and also civil church near Lancaster in the north of Lancashire, England, positioned at the north eastern end of Morecambe Bay. The parish of Carnforth had a population of 5,350 recorded in the 2001 census, and also forms part of the City of Lancaster. The 2011 Census gauged a population of 5,560. As a result of the nearness of the shore as well as the hills, Carnforth is a prominent base for walkers and bicyclists exploring the area. The River Keer, the West Coast Main Line (WCML), the A6 as well as the Lancaster Canal travel through the community. The M6 motorway passes just to the east, linked to Carnforth by the A601(M). The name “Carnforth” is believed to stem from its old function as a ford of the River Keer on which it is located. Gradually the detailed name “Keer-ford” may have morphed into the modern-day “Carnforth”. An alternative explanation is that the name originates from ‘Chreneforde’ and also is Anglo-Saxon in beginning, as pointed out in the Victoria County History of Lancashire.
