Garden sheds are an essential component of any functional garden space. They provide storage for heavy garden tools, as well as for other tools. A larger sized garden shed may provide enough space for plant potting or a general workshop. Alternatively, a large shed could be used as an inside seating area. Garden sheds come in an enormous range of sizes and can be specified to your particular requirements, providing you total control over the amount and position of windows, type, size and location of door, and design of roof.
Garden sheds typically are available in one of three materials. Wooden sheds are the typical style and can be integrated well into any garden creating a natural look, especially if the wood used for the shed is matched to bordering fences. Wooden sheds are still very popular, although they will need maintenance by retreating or staining the wood to preserve the lifespan of the shed. Garden sheds are also constructed from metal, which is very durable and therefore ideal for storage of tools and other equipment. Metal sheds also require minimal maintenance. The final material for garden sheds is plastic, which in modern examples is much more resilient than might be expected.
When contemplating a garden shed, it’s essential to make certain you pick one that will fit in your garden space. Garden sheds should be located on a flat area, and will require a base to be built as a foundation. This base could be produced from either concrete, paving, gravel or a floating timber base, but will have to be the right size for your shed and able to support the weight of your shed when loaded.

The London Borough of Sutton is a London borough in South West London, England and forms a part of Outer London. It is among the southernmost boroughs of London. It is south of the London Borough of Merton, west of the London Borough of Croydon and east of the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames. The local authority is Sutton London Borough Council. Its principal town is the eponymous Sutton. It covers an area of 17 square miles.
In line with population estimates created part way through 2014, the borough features a permanent population of about 198134 people. This makes it the 80th biggest local authority in England by population. The 2014 Family Hotspots Report, on the finest areas in England and Wales for families to live, placed three locations within the borough amongst the top ten areas in London. Furthermore, a Rightmove study in 2015 discovered that Sutton was the fourth happiest borough in which to live out of 33 in London. It accomplished exactly the same placing in the 2016 survey.
It was shown in a national detailed Land Use Survey by the Office for National Statistics in 2005 that the London Borough of Sutton had the greatest proportion of land taken up by gardens of any district in England, at 35.1 per cent. The London Borough of Sutton was one of the 4 “vanguard areas” selected in 2010 for the Big Society initiative.
