Stump grinding refers to the procedure in which the stump of a tree that has been previously felled is disposed of. Commonly during tree felling a few inches of the trunk and the root system are kept in the earth, making the neighbouring area unusable in addition to possibly enticing insects or harbouring tree diseases such as honey fungus. If your garden has stumps in the ground, having them removed can open up the garden, offering more space which could be used to improve your lawn area or add new spaces to lay patio or decking.
Professional stump grinding companies can clear away stumps of any proportion. The technique generally comprises trimming the stump as low to the ground as possible working with a chainsaw, and afterwards employing specialised stump grinding equipment to grind away at the stump. Stumps are ground down to around 10-12 inches underneath the soil surface to enable planting, however in some cases landscaping projects may require the stump to be removed deeper than this. The wood chipping that is made by the stump grinding could be either infilled back into the hole and used as mulch in other areas of your garden, or the stump grinding company can remove it for you and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner. Also, numerous expert stump grinding companies offer specialist slim equipment that may be used if there is limited access to your garden for instance, through a side alleyway.

Lairg is a village as well as church in Sutherland, Scotland. It has a population of 891 and also is at the south-eastern end of Loch Shin. Lairg is uncommon in the northern Highlands, otherwise unique, in being a large negotiation that is out the coast. Among the factors that Lairg is somewhat larger than other non-coastal Highland villages is its central location within the county of Sutherland. Having four roadways which meet in the village, it used to be known as “The Crossroads of the North”. In the 19th century, it was supplied with a train station, on what is now the Far North Line. This growth means that the north-west of Sutherland is now less complicated to get to. (The Far North Line links Inverness in the south with Thurso and Wick in the north.).
