Stump grinding refers to the procedure in which the stump of a tree that has been felled is disposed of. Commonly when trees are felled a couple of inches of the trunk and the root system are left in the soil, making the adjacent space unusable and also possibly enticing insects or harbouring tree diseases such as honey fungus. If your garden has stumps in the earth, taking them out could clear the space, presenting you with more space to expand your lawn or create fresh areas to lay patio or decking.
Competent stump grinding businesses can extract stumps of any size. The procedure usually requires trimming the stump as close to the ground as possible utilising a chainsaw, and then using specialised stump grinding machinery to grind away the stump. Stumps are ground down to roughly 10-12 inches beneath the ground surface to enable planting, although sometimes landscaping projects may require the stump to be removed deeper than this. The wood chipping that is generated by the stump grinding may be either infilled back into the hole and used as compost in other areas of your garden, or the stump grinding company may remove it for you and dispose of it in an eco-friendly way. Also, numerous skilled stump grinding companies provide specialist narrow machines that may be employed if there is restricted access to your garden for example, through a side alleyway.

Lymm is a large village and civil parish in Warrington, Cheshire in England. Lymm was an urban district of Cheshire from 1894 to 1974. The civil parish of Lymm integrates the hamlets of Booths Hill, Broomedge, Church Green, Deansgreen, Heatley, Heatley Heath, Little Heatley, Oughtrington, Reddish, Rushgreen and Statham. According to the 2011 Census, the village has a permanent population of close to 12350 people. Within this population, 49.1 percent are male and 50.9 per cent are female. Lymm village centre is a designated preservation region, significant for its historic buildings, both listed and unlisted. These include the French-style terracotta one-time town hall, which is currently unlisted, St. Peter’s Church, Oughtrington Hall and Lodge, in the past owned by a cadet branch of the Leigh family and now Lymm High School, and Lymm Hall, a past Domville family residence. Foxley Hall, the home of a cadet branch of the ancient Booth family, before ownership passed to the Carlisle family, is not standing, however fustian cutting cottages on Church Road and Arley Grove do survive. The Parish Church of St. Peter, Oughtrington is an example of Gothic Revival architecture. St. Mary’s Church, Lymm, close-by Lymm Dam was in a state of disrepair by the middle of the 1800s so the Leigh family commissioned the noted Newcastle architect John Dobson to rebuild it. The 1521 tower was maintained and raised, though the need for further stonework rendered the tower being reconstructed in 1887. Lymm Cross, commonly known simply as ‘the Cross’, is a Grade I listed structure. A 24-hour cam watches over the landmark. Additional webcams are strategically located around.
