Wooden decking is an increasingly popular choice for providing outdoor seating areas in gardens. Due to the natural beauty of wood, they can be very elegant areas which you can use year round by installing additional heating and lighting. Wooden decking is frequently installed in locations in front of patio or French doors where they can create a seamless transition between inside and outside spaces. Wooden decking can come in any size or shape to match any area. Curved designs or large areas joined by pathways can create a striking effect.
Wooden decking is relatively simple to install and causes minimal disruption, particularly in comparison to other possibilities like patio or paving. It can even be installed over the top of a pre-existing patio. It is necessary however to make certain that your wooden decking is structurally sound and capable of taking the load of any furniture or plants that you would like to use on the decking.
There is a array of species of wood that can be used in wooden decking. Commonly decking is made of hardwood, but there are softwoods available that fulfil the durability specifications. As hardwood decking will need maintenance, which typically consists of annual cleaning and staining for weather proofing, composite woods are becoming more popular for use in wooden decking because they are stronger and require far less maintenance.

Llantwit Major is a small coastal town and community in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, resting on the Bristol Channel shoreline. It is one of four towns in the Vale of Glamorgan and the 3rd greatest by population (13,366 (2001) after Barry and Penarth. The town’s name in Welsh, Llanilltud Fawr, stemmed from the name of Saint Illtud, who came to the area from Brittany, Gaul. He started the monastery of Illtud and the college connected to it, Cor Tewdws, which would end up being one of the most esteemed Christian colleges of the times. At peak it brought in over 2000 students, including princes and many prominent clergymen, some now revered as saints. The contemporary town of Llantwit developed swiftly in the 20th century to accommodate Royal Air Force workers from the base constructed at neighboring St Athan, but it holds on to its medieval cobbled streets and buildings of the 15th and 16th centuries. Collugh Beach is a popular surfing area and has the remnants of an Iron Age fort and some of the finest examples of Jurassic-period fossils in Wales. The pebble beach and its remarkable clifftops are part of a 14 miles (23 kilometre)-long shoreline protected under the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, which stretches from Gileston in the east to Newton Point beyond Southerndown in the west. Llantwit Major is mainly dependent on local retail and profits from further afield. Most of the occupants commute to work elsewhere, primarily Cardiff or Bridgend. Through the summer months tourism is necessary to the town which has “The Precinct”, Rainbow Plaza and numerous pubs and restaurants. Of note are the Old Swan Inn, Old White Hart Inn, The Tudor Tavern, and the 17th century West House Country Hotel Heritage Restaurant. For all of your home renovations, make sure to identify respected contractors in Llantwit Major to make certain of quality.
