While its value as an element of garden design is sometimes ignored, fencing is an integral part of both the aesthetics and practicality of your garden. Garden fencing tends to differ between the front and rear of properties, with higher and more solid timber fencing commonly being used in the rear garden, while the front of the house generally features more compact and more decorative fencing. Fencing for the front of the home tends to feature a low height and large spaces between the wooden slats. Additionally, it is often stained to enhance its decorative effect. Fencing in the back garden is often used for privacy and to maintain the borders of a garden, as well as to keep household pets or other small animals or wildlife either in or out. Due to this, these styles of fences are about 6 feet high and use wooden slats with no spaces in between. Due to the added height, these fences typically have concrete footings laid in between each section to provide strength and stop the fence from blowing over or being broken in bad weather. Garden fencing sections are generally constructed from wood. The posts in between the sections are manufactured from either wood, stone, or concrete. More recently, fence panels have started to be constructed from heavily recycled and eco friendly composite materials such as recycled bamboo.

Ivybridge is a small town and civil parish in the South Hams, in Devon, England. It is located about 9 miles (14.5 km) east of Plymouth. It is at the southern extremity of Dartmoor, a National Park of England and Wales and sits along the A38 ‘Devon Expressway’ road. In accordance with the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of around 11851 individuals. Detailed in documents as early as the 13th century, Ivybridge’s early history is marked by its status as an essential crossing-point over the River Erme on the Exeter-to-Plymouth route. In the 16th century, mills were developed making use of the River Erme’s power. The parish of Saint John was formed in 1836, with Ivybridge coming to be a civil parish in 1894. It came to be a town in 1977. The early urbanisation and development of Ivybridge mostly coincided with the Industrial Revolution. When the South Devon Railway Company established its train route through Ivybridge in the 19th century, a paper mill was built along with it, which brought on an increase in housing close by. The paper mill closed in the beginning of the 21st century, after being in operation for over 150 years in the town, and the structures are being changed to homes and shops. The shopping area is mostly along Fore Street, with some little shops and restaurants positioned in the Glanvilles Mill shopping centre which is accessible from Fore Street. The shopping centre features over 35 shops, that includes both local and nationwide chain stores, as well as restaurants and cafés. Although occasionally cited as a dormitory town, lots of people work in the town itself, and agriculture continues to play an economic role for Ivybridge’s hinterland. The area bordering Ivybridge is practically totally farmland. For all your home renovations, be sure to identify trustworthy contractors in Ivybridge to make certain of quality.
