Although its importance as an element of garden design is often ignored, fencing is an essential part of both the aesthetics and usefulness of your garden. Garden fencing will likely differ between the front and back of properties, with higher and more secure timber fencing generally being installed in the rear garden, while the front of the home often makes use of smaller and more decorative fencing. Fencing for the front of the home tends to have a low height and large spaces between the wooden slats. Also, it is often coloured to enhance its decorative effect. Fencing in the back garden is generally used for privacy and to maintain the boundaries of a garden, as well as to keep pets or other small animals or wildlife either in or out. Due to this, these kinds of fences are around 6 feet high and use wooden slats with no gaps in between. Due to the extra height, these fences generally have concrete footings laid in between each section to offer strength preventing the fence from blowing over or being ruined in bad weather. Garden fencing sections are generally made of wood. The posts in between the sections are manufactured from either timber, stone, or concrete. Recently, fence panels have started to be made of heavily recycled and eco friendly composite materials such as recycled bamboo.

Kings Langley is a historic village and civil parish in Hertfordshire, England, 21 miles (34 km) northwest of central London to the south of the Chiltern Hills and now part of the London commuter belt. The town is separated between 2 local government districts by the River Gade with the bigger western portion in the Borough of Dacorum as well as smaller component, to the east of the river, in Three Rivers Area. It was once the location of Kings Langley Palace, an imperial palace of the Plantagenet kings of England. The 12th century parish church of All Saints’ residences the tomb of Edmund of Langley (1341– 1402), the very first Duke of York. It is 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Hemel Hempstead and 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Watford. The place-name Langley is first testified here in a Saxon charter of circa 1050, where it looks like Langalega. It is led to Langelai in the Domesday Book of 1086, and is recorded as Langel’ Regis in 1254. The name implies ‘lengthy timber or clearing up’.
