Patios remain a very fashionable way of creating functional outdoor spaces which can be used for socialising, dining, or simply to enhance the appeal of your garden. Patios are made from block or slab paving and can come in a huge array of colours, patterns and designs. Patios can be laid in either random course patterns where the pattern is varied, or in repeating patterns which have a consistent effect. Patios are particularly durable and require very little maintenance, only infrequent cleaning to preserve the natural beauty of the stone. Patios are typically installed in locations where patio or French doors can open directly out onto them as this causes a smooth transition between the inside and outside spaces.
Patios come in a wide assortment of colours and types of stone. Give some thought to introducing a different colour and style of stone to either inlay an elegant design or as edging to complement the shape of your patio. It is vital to consider the use of your patio when planning it and measure accurately to be sure that any furniture fits the intended space. Specialist patio and paving companies can design you a patio that perfectly meets your requirements and creates an outdoor area that is practical as well as beautiful.
