Stump grinding refers to the process in which the stump of a tree that has been previously felled is disposed of. Typically after trees are felled a few inches of the trunk and the root structure are left in the ground, making the local area unusable along with potentially enticing pests or harbouring tree diseases such as honey fungus. If your back yard has stumps in the soil, taking them out could open up the space, delivering more space that could be used to extend your lawn area or add new areas to lay patio or decking.
Experienced stump grinding companies can extract stumps of any proportion. The process generally comprises trimming the stump as close to the ground as possible utilising a chainsaw, and afterwards utilising specialised stump grinding machinery to grind away at the stump. Stumps are ground down to about 10-12 inches underneath the dirt surface to permit replanting, however in some scenarios landscaping projects may require the stump to be removed deeper than this. The wood chippings that are generated by the stump grinding could be either infilled back into the hole and used as compost in other areas of your garden, or the stump grinding company may remove it and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way. Also, many professional stump grinding companies offer specialist small equipment that could be employed if there is limited access to your garden for instance, through a side passageway.

Alexandria is a town in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. The town is positioned on the River Leven, 4 miles (six km) north-west of Dumbarton. In 2001, the population of the town was 13,444. It’s the largest town in the Vale of Leven. Alexandria developed due to the textile sector. In 1715, the very first bleachfields in the area were started at Dalquhurn, attracting seasonal labour from Argyll. As trade between Scotland and the US grew, cotton was increasingly imported and processed in and around Glasgow. Soon, textile work in the Vale grew from just bleaching fabric to dying and printing it too. The town’s traditional industries, most significantly cotton manufacturing, bleaching and printing, have been phased out. The town was redeveloped during the 1970s with a brand new town centre layout and traffic system. Local landmarks include Christie Park plus the fountain in the town centre. Alexandria sits on the former A82 main road between Glasgow and Loch Lomond. You’ll find frequent bus services on the route and the town features a railway station on the rail line in between Balloch and Glasgow Queen Street. The town is well-known as the only UK town with a railway station along with a pub in the center of a roundabout. The writer A. J. Cronin’s uncle owned a pub in Bridge Street. Alexandria Library is positioned on Gilmour Street. The town hosts the Vale of Leven football club, who play at Millburn Park. The club were a dominant force in early Scottish football history, winning the Scottish Cup in 1877, 1878 and 1879, and were founding members of the Scottish Football League.
