Stump grinding is the procedure in which the stump of a previously felled tree is extracted. Frequently during tree felling several inches of the trunk and the root structure are left behind in the soil, making the adjacent space unusable as well as possibly enticing bugs or harbouring tree diseases like honey fungus. If your garden has stumps in the earth, having them cleared can clear the area, providing you with more space to maximise your lawn size or provide fresh spaces to lay patio or decking.
Experienced stump grinding businesses can get rid of stumps of any scale. The procedure usually demands trimming the stump as close to the ground as possible by using a chainsaw, and then utilising specialised stump grinding machinery to grind away at the stump. Stumps are ground down to around 10-12 inches beneath the soil surface to allow for replanting, however in some scenarios landscaping projects may need the stump to be removed deeper than this. The wood chippings that are produced by the stump grinding could be either infilled back into the hole and used as compost in other areas of your garden, or the stump grinding company may remove it for you and dispose of it in an eco-friendly manner. Additionally, numerous skilled stump grinding companies provide specialist small machines that may be employed if there is restricted access to your garden for example, through a side alleyway.
