Tree felling might be carried out for a range of reasons. Trees that are diseased or weakened and incapable of recovering might need to be felled to be certain that they do not fall by themselves and cause injury or harm to property. In the same way, if trees are damaged by inclement weather or other factors and have partly fallen they will probably require felling to ensure that they do not cause any further destruction either to properties or neighbouring trees. Domestic tree felling may also be carried out if a tree has grown too big or is especially near to a building and therefore likely to cause structural issues. Furthermore, trees in gardens can be felled if they are obscuring the light to a property or otherwise impacting your enjoyment of your garden. While it can be tempting to handle tree felling as a DIY job, it is dangerous to undertake without the correct training and planning. Professional tree surgeons can fell trees in a safe way and ensure that they do not cause any harm to property as they are felled. If the space around a tree is constrained, the tree can be felled in parts to limit the danger of it falling and causing destruction in the nearby area. Tree felling companies will also remove the fallen tree in a sustainable way, and may even cut up the tree into logs for use in a wood burner or stove.

Gorebridge is a former mining town in Midlothian, Scotland. The town gets its name from the bridge throughout the River Gore, a tributary of the South Esk. It was the house of Scotland’s very first gunpowder mill, at the Gore Water, that started operating in 1794. Gorebridge has a yearly Gala Day which always takes place on the third Saturday in June. This is similar to a community fair, with trips as well as video games. The gala day has a tradition of selecting a Community King and also Queen from the primary schools. Gorebridge has 4 primary schools, Gorebridge Primary, Stobhill Key, St Andrews RC Primary as well as Gore Glen Key. Greenhall High school used to serve the town but shut down in 1994. Local youngsters currently go to nearby Newbattle Community Senior high school, Lasswade High School or St David’s RC High School. Gorebridge’s neighborhood football team is juniors Arniston Rangers who play house games at Newbyres Park. On 6 September 2015 Gorebridge saw the return of the Waverley Line with a brand-new station built on the site of the initial terminal. This gives rail access to the Borders and also Edinburgh Waverley train terminal. In the Gore Glen there is a superficial cavern, called “The King’s Cave”. According to legend a burglar used to swipe livestock and conceal in this close-by cave. It is not, as some think, called after Robert the Bruce, who was claimed to have hidden here after defeat at the hands of the English.
