Abbots Langley is a sizeable village and civil parish in the English county of Hertfordshire. It is an old settlement and is mentioned as Langelai in the Domesday Book of 1086. This village has had an extensive background of productive human inhabitation. The very first signs of human residence in the location were recorded by renowned archaeologist Sir John Evans. The village sits on a dish of clay covered by a coating of gravel, and as a result water supply has never been a problem; records demonstrate that in earlier times water could be drawn from a well only 20 feet deep.
