Wooden decking is an increasingly fashionable choice for creating outdoor seating areas in gardens. Because of the natural beauty of wood, they can be very beautiful spaces which can be used year round with the help of external heating and illumination. Wooden decking is usually installed in locations in front of patio or French doors where they can create a seamless transition between interior and exterior spaces. Wooden decking can come in any size or shape to match any area. Curved designs or large areas linked by pathways can produce a striking effect.
Wooden decking is relatively quick to install and causes minimal disruption, especially when compared to alternate options like patio or paving. It can even be installed over the top of an existing patio. It is important however to make sure that your wooden decking is structurally sound and capable of taking the load of any furniture or plants that you want to use on the decking.
There is a variety of varieties of wood that can be used in wooden decking. Often decking is made of hardwood, but there are softwoods available that fulfil the durability requirements. As hardwood decking will need maintenance, which generally consists of annual cleaning and staining for weather proofing, composite woods have become popular for use in wooden decking as they are stronger and require significantly less maintenance.

Bideford is a historic port town on the estuary of the River Torridge in North Devon, located in the southwest of England. The town’s name means ‘by the ford’, with documents showing that prior to the creation of a bridge, there was a ford at Bideford where the River Torridge is estuarine. At periods of low tide, it’s feasible, although not recommended, to walk across the river. Bideford at the moment serves as the central town of the Torridge local government district. As per the 2011 Census, the town contains a population of around 17,000. Bideford is commonly famous for being the place by which the American GIs arrived in 1942 during World War Two. Originally located there to work in radar stations across North Devon, growing quantities of troops landed in Bideford during the duration of the war. Bideford is renowned for its New Year’s Eve celebrations. This involves thousands of people from the close by towns and villages arriving in fancy dress costumes congregating on the quay for entertainment and a firework show. The event includes various local bands. The town has a lengthy background of communal New Year’s Eve celebrations. A custom from 1605 was for citizens to attempt to run across Bideford’s bridge in the time taken for the bells of St. Mary’s parish church to chime at midnight. In the same year, the mayor set up a trust fund to raise money to buy meals for the poor and elderly who applied at the Mayor’s Parlour. This still happens and takes place on New Year’s Day. For all your home improvements, make certain that you choose trustworthy experts in Bideford to ensure that you get a top quality service.
