Although its value as an element of garden design is often ignored, fencing is an integral part of both the aesthetics and useability of your garden. Garden fencing will differ between the front and rear of properties, with higher and more solid wooden fencing commonly being used in the rear garden, while the front of the property often employs smaller and more attractive fencing. Fencing for the front of the home tends to have a low height and large spaces between the wooden slats. Additionally, it is often painted to improve its ornamental effect. Fencing in the back garden is commonly used for privacy and to maintain the borders of a garden, as well as to keep pets or other small animals or wildlife either in or out. For this reason, these types of fences are roughly 6 feet high and use wooden slats without spaces in between. Because of the extra height, these fences typically have concrete footings laid between each panel to offer security and stop the fence from blowing over or being broken in high winds. Garden fencing panels are generally made of wood. The posts in between the panels are produced from either wood, stone, or concrete. Recently, fence panels have started to be made of heavily recycled and environmentally friendly composite materials such as recycled bamboo.

South Ockendon is a town as well as Church of England parish in the Thurrock district as well as unitary area in Essex in the East of England, UK. It is located on the boundary with Greater London, just outside the M25 motorway. The area to the north is North Ockendon. South Ockendon village became a location for prefabricated homes (prefabs) suiting bombed-out locals of East London/West Essex in the very late 40s. Much of the original post-war building was taken on by former German prisoners of war. The majority of these were destroyed in the late-1960s when a large Greater London Council estate, Lecaplan “concrete” building and construction houses– the Flowers’ Estate– was built to replace them, once again with pre-fabricated houses, albeit of a remarkable design. The Lecaplan Type B type of pre-cast concrete (huge panel concrete) terrace is built in rows of eight residential or commercial properties to a design by J C Tilley and also produced by W. & C. French. In the 1970s the Ford Motor Company factory at Aveley housed Ford’s Advanced Vehicle Operations which developed vehicles such as the RS1600. The plant was unwinded progressively from the late 90’s yet shut completely in 2004, when the last 150 work were shed. Most of the 150 workers approved transfers to other Ford or secondary websites around Essex. The ‘Aveley’ plant was located along and west of the railway line, beside Ockendon station in the Belhus Ward that part of Ockendon has currently been become new real estate estates, with street names after popular Ford cars in keeping with the sites history.
