While its value as an element of garden design is often ignored, fencing is a vital part of both the appearance and usefulness of your garden. Garden fencing will likely differ between the front and rear of properties, with taller and more secure wood fencing frequently being installed in the rear garden, while the front of the property typically employs smaller and more ornamental fencing. Fencing for the front of the home tends to have a low height and large spaces between the wooden slats. Also, it is often coloured to enhance its ornamental effect.
Fencing in the back garden is generally used for privacy and to maintain the borders of a garden, as well as to keep domestic pets or other small animals or wildlife either in or out. Because of this, these types of fences are roughly 6 feet high and use wooden slats without gaps in between. Because of the additional height, these fences typically have concrete footings laid in between each section to offer stability and stopping the fence from blowing over or being damaged in high winds.
Garden fencing sections are generally made of wood. The posts in between the panels are produced from either wood, stone, or concrete. Recently, fence panels have started to be made of heavily recycled and sustainable composite materials such as recycled bamboo.

Bellingham is a district in south east London, in the London Borough of Lewisham. Its neighbouring districts are Catford, Downham and Sydenham. The Ravensbourne River runs through the centre of Bellingham, and to the east and west it is bordered by railway lines running south from Catford.
The name Bellingham means âthe water-meadow belonging to Beora’s people’, and was the name of the medieval manor in the region. The real name was preserved by the farm in the region, Bellingham Railway Station and the Bellingham Estate. Additional historical names have already been preserved by the road brands of the estate, which are connected with King Alfred, who was simply thought to have been the lord of the manor of Lewisham, and were taken from the brands of mills, houses and areas in the area.
Bellingham was mainly farmland until the Bellingham Estate was built, mostly between 1920 and 1923. London City Council built about 2600 houses and flats during this time. Bellingham Estate was one of many large estates built by London City Council following the First World War to aid with slum clearance and relieve overcrowding. As there was plenty of land available the majority of the dwellings built were two-story homes, and there was plenty of green, open space.
Today, Bellingham is a localised town centre. Its high street is Randlesdown Road, which includes a supermarket, a fitness center, hairdressers and multiple restaurants and food outlets. It also has a sixth form college, and a church and a library. Bellingham boasts many popular former and present residents, including the singer/song-writer Kate Bush, the previous Labour Prime Minister James Callaghan, and the footballer Ian Wright.
